Chidori-ga-fuchi 千鳥ヶ淵
Nearest station: Kudanshita or Hanzomon

Chidori-ga-fuchi is a moat located in the
northwest of the Imperial Palace. It is said that Sir Ernest Mason Satow, British
scholar and diplomat, started to plant a cherry blossom tree in front of the
British embassy in 1898. Today 260 trees are planted along the roadside in this
area, so Chidori-ga-fuchi are well-known for one of the best place in Tokyo.
